[UK] Great Western Brick Show this weekend

Posted by ,

One of the largest and best LEGO shows in the UK takes place this weekend at the STEAM museum in Swindon, and I will be there contributing to the GBC display.

Tickets are still available for all times other first thing Saturday morning, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Find out more at the event's website and after the break. I hope to see you there!

The display will be held at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon on 1-2 October 2022. We’re planning some amazing new displays as well as all the usual activities for all the family to enjoy and participate in. All models on display are built by Brickish members, making it one of the largest display of LEGO fan models from the UK.

Doors open at 10am and the show closes at 5pm. Last admission is at 4.30pm.

There will be plenty to see and do, making it a fabulous day out for all the family:

  • Lots of models of all sizes built by LEGO fans such as railway layouts, buildings, space craft, cars, trucks, aircraft and much more
  • Interactive Building – help create an all-new giant LEGO mosaic from over 100,000 bricks!
  • Visit the LEGO Shop and other independent LEGO traders for some great deals on some exclusive LEGO sets not available on the high street
  • LEGO and Duplo brick pits tables for children
  • Brick Cafe – to keep you refreshed in first class style.

plus

  • all the regular displays and exhibits telling the remarkable story of the men and women who built, operated and travelled on the Great Western Railway. One entrance ticket covers access to the LEGO model show as well as the museum itself and the displays and exhibits of the Great Western Railway.

By in United Kingdom,

Is there a reliable calendar published by anyone for these sort of events? I had this weekend free until last night!

This is always a fantastic show, I am really lucky to have this one in my town.

By in New Zealand,

To anyone considering going order your tickets now!

This was always our go to show even even finances were really tight as it was just up the road. You won't be disappointed, I'd be there if it wasn't for the fact I no longer live in the UK.

The dates mentioned below the break are incorrect - they're for 2020 (which never happened!)

I'm going to the Show at 10am on the Saturday, do you have any new& sealed sets you are looking to trade for any others, can you make your collection public and I'll see if I've got anything you are looking for.

Hi, I am not looking for anything in particular at the moment, I like seeing the displays.

By in Croatia,

Sadly I'm on the weekend shift this week. I did consider using holiday days to go to this event but in the end I didn't. I'll definitely go next year though!

By in United States,

What does "not available on the high street" mean?

By in France,

Ironically a train strike means I can’t get to the Steam museum for GWBS this year, which is annoying, but it is a great event so look forward to hearing more from those lucky enough to attend.

@crazylegoman it just means sets no longer in production generally, as well as some other rare items from resellers. I bought a sealed Castle Ninja set there a few years ago for a great price, which topped off a great show.

Always a good show, which I sadly will be missing this yeat :( Off to Norfolk on holiday tomorrow so no show for me this year - I wont make that mistake again. The rest of you have a good show.
